Dodman secures BS EN 1090 Certification after flawless audit.

By 12th September 2016January 21st, 2019No Comments

Recently introduced legislation requires many new steel structures to be provided with a CE mark in much the same way as any other piece of plant or machinery. However, unlike equipment subject to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC which allows the manufacturer to self-certify the equipment, the new BS EN 1090 standard requires any manufacturer who wishes to supply structural steelwork to be suitably certified and subject to annual, independent audit before being able to apply a CE mark.

The certification of Dodman Ltd to BS EN1090 Execution Class 2 means that all of our structures, platforms and walkways can be manufactured in house allowing us to maintain full control of the design and fabrication of every structure. Coupling this in house control with our experienced site installation team ensures that our customers can be confident of purchasing fully compliant structures with the manufacturing quality they have come to expect from Dodman throughout our product range.

Support from Laurence Brooks at Performance Plus Partnership (www.performanceplus.co.uk) and Andy Spence at Weld-Qual Ltd (www.weld-qual.co.uk) played an invaluable role in securing the certification with a fantastic audit result at the first time of asking.

Tim Skerritt MD of Dodman Ltd commented “The award of BS EN1090 certification with a faultless audit underlines our approach to providing equipment and services of the highest standards”
